Cabakungan said they have decided to surrender due to the fear and exhaustion of hiding away from the operation of the government forces. We have decided to surrender due to the fear and exhaustion of hiding away from the operation of the military and police, also, the NPA have not kept their promises that they (NPA) will support our family and they convince us to get mad and oppose to the government. In addition, we want to live peacefully together with each of our family)," said Cabakungan in their colloquial dialect.
Lt. Col. Warren Munda, Acting Commanding Officer of 75IB said, "With the support of our government, stakeholders and people in the community, together we'll resolve and act as one to this campaign in eradicating the Communist NPA Terrorists (CNTs)."
The surrenderees will undergo the process as they return to the folds of the government. They are expected to receive assistance from the government through the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP). (Capt. Edwin Leo Francisco, 75IB-CMO/PIA-Surigao del Sur)
