From the Philippine News Agency (Jul 19, 2019): Army offers live viewing of Pacquiao-Thurman bout
To boost the morale of soldiers' battle casualties and their families, the Philippine Army (PA) announced that it will be offering live-viewing of the Pacquiao-Thurman boxing match dubbed as the "Welterweight Supremacy" inside selected areas at Army headquarters in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City on Sunday.
Lt. Col. Ramon Zagala, Army spokesperson, said live viewing will be available at Ricarte Hall, PA Officers' Clubhouse, the Multi-Purpose Hall, Army General Hospital and Army Wellness Center, all located inside Fort Bonifacio.
"(The) said venture aims to heighten the morale of Army personnel and their dependents, specifically, of the battle casualties," he said in a statement Thursday.
Viewing will start at 10 a.m. (Manila time).
The Pacquiao-Thurman bout will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday night (local time).
Manny Pacquiao, a Filipino boxing legend, senator and popularly known as the "Pacman", will be going against undefeated American Keith Thurman, who is a world champion since 2013, holds a perfect 29-0 record with 22 knockouts.
While the Filipino boxing icon, who is 10 years older than the 30-year-old Thurman, holds the distinction of the only boxer who won 12 major world titles in eight different weight divisions.
Pacquiao has 61 wins, including 39 via knockouts, and seven defeats and two draws.
