BAI HOTEL, Mandaue, Cebu (DWDD) – The Chief, Naval Human Rights Office, Navy Captain Art Sahagon PN(MNSA), spearheaded the Philippine Navy’s participation in the Senior AFP Officers Workshop on International Humanitarian Law (IHL) at the Bai Hotel, Mandaue City, Cebu.

The workshop is an annual event co-hosted by the International Committee of the Red Cross Philippines (ICRC) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines Human Rights Office (AFPHRO) which aims to provide senior field grade officers of the AFP with a more advanced and detailed insight on IHL, its underlying principles and other relevant topics which are readily applicable in their respective functions in the military.

The PN-Contingent was comprised mostly by Deputy Commanders of PN Commands/Units, who are concurrently designated as Human Rights Officers of their respective units, and Senior Officers assigned in NFC AOR, namely: Captain Renato P David PN(GSC), DC, NFC; Capt Danilo G Fuentes PN(GSC), DC, NFSL; Col Hernanie S Songano PN(M)(GSC), DC for MAROPS, NFWM; Capt Jeffrey G Reyes PN(GSC), DC, NRC; Capt Oscar D Canlas Jr PN(GSC), IG, NETC; Capt Robeline R Carpio PN(GSC), C, NIF-Central, NIC and, Cdr John A Barrameda PN(GSC), C, NRCen-ES.
