PATIKUL, Sulu (DWDD) – Goverment soldiers arrested a notorious member of the Daesh-inspired terror group Abu Sayyaf under leader Radullan Sahiron yesterday in Patikul, Sulu.
According to reports, Milham Saham, 24 years old and a resident of Barangay Bangkal, Patikul,Sulu, was intercepted by elements of the 45th Infantry Battalion in Barangay Buhanginan, Patikul, Sulu at 6pm yesterday (September 7).
“Troops conducted a checkpoint following reports on the alleged movement of the Abu Sayyaf in the area, resulting in the arrest of Abu Sayyaf member Saham,” said Brigadier General Cirilito Sobejana, commander of the Joint Task Force Sulu.
Seized from Saham were several components of an Improvised Explosive Device, including an Ammunition Nitrate Fuel Oil with detonating cord, electrical wires, electrical tapes, and a circuit assembly.
Saham was positively identified by informants as an Abu Sayyaf member under Sahiron. He was previously associated with the groups of late sub-leaders Hairulla Asbang and Alhabsy Misaya.
The arrested bandit was also linked to the group of sub-leader Alden Bagadi a.k.a. Sayning, who is his cousin.
Saham is currently undergoing debriefing at the 45IB headquarters. The explosive components were secured as part of evidence for the filing of appropriate charges in court.
“All means are exhausted by the ground troops to neutralize the bandits who are responsible for the series of kidnappings and atrocities in the joint area of operations,” said Lieutenant General Carlito G. Galvez, Jr., commander of the Western Mindanao Command.
“We will not stop until we get them all. Our troops are very determined to hunt them so that their evil doings will come to an end,” added the WestMinCom Chief.
As of this report, 299 ASG members were neutralized within Western Mindanao, of the said total, 122 were killed, 103 surrendered and 74 were apprehended. WESMINCOM PIO / MCAG
