From the Philippine News Agency (Feb 7): 86th IB troopers extend aid to 6 road mishap victims in Isabela
Aside from securing the nation against all forms of internal and external threats, soldiers on duty can also act emergency medical technicians if needed.
This was proven by troopers of the 86th Infantry Battalion who witnessed a roadside mishap at the National Highway near Barangay San Manuel, Naguilian town, Isabela Monday morning.
In the said mishap, six people, all members of the Reyes family, were injured, 5th Infantry Division public affairs office chief 1st Lt. Rhea May Reyes said.
She added the 86th Infantry Battalion troopers were headed to their headquarters in Camp Melchor, Upi town but opted to aid the injured passengers by transporting the victims to the Isabela Doctors General Hospital for medical treatment.
