From the Philippine Information Agency (Nov 24): Pres. Duterte to visit 8 wounded soldiers in Wesmincom
President Rodrigo Duterte is expected to arrive tomorrow (November 25) at Camp Navarro General Hospital, Western Mindanao Command (Wesmincom) to visit 8 wounded soldiers who were in the operations against the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) in Sulu and Basilan.
As of this writing, the names of the soldiers have not been released.
Prior to Zamboanga City, the President will first go to Jolo to visit wounded-in-action soldiers confined at the Sulu Hospital in barangay Bus-Bus, Jolo, Sulu. In the afternoon, the President is expected to arrive at around 2:20pm in Zamboanga City.
It can be recalled in November 18, government troops encountered ASGs under leader Radullan Sahiron in Sitio Dyundangan, Barangay Buhanginan, Patikul Sulu. The Wesmincom reported. 4 soldiers were killed, and 9 were wounded.
Ten ASG were killed while an undetermined number were wounded in the operation.
The military is in continuous offensive against the ASGs in the effort to rescue the remaining kidnap victims and end the terror threat of the bandits.
