Warring Muslim clans in Maguindanao on Thursday smoked the pipe of peace and buried their long standing clan war that already claimed the lives of several family members.

Families in conflict are Ragundo, Macaraop, Tomirara and Tumarompong who all agreed to swear before the Holy Quran to do away with violence.

The dialogue held at about 9 a.m. at Buldon town gymnasium was aimed at ending decades-old clan war involving families from Buldon and Barira towns in Maguindanao.

Facilitated by Buldon Mayor Abolais Manalao, the reconciliation have the support of the Army's 37th Infantry Battalion, police, Muslim religious leaders and Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).

Lt. Colonel Florencio Politud Jr, 37th Infantry Battalion commander, lauded the efforts to peacefully bring warring families together and prevent future hostilities.

After the peaceful and diplomatic means of resolving conflict, a thanksgiving party was held in the same venue for all warring family members and their supporters.
