NABUNTURAN, Compostela Valley Province- Thirty one (31) Former Rebels were awarded with Immediate Cash assistance worth P 15,000.00 each today around 10 o’clock in the morning at Provincial Capitol in Nabunturan, Compostela Valley Province.

Awarded by Governor Jayvee Tyron L Uy, the Department of Interior and Local Government of Compostela Valley Province distributed a total of P 465,000.00 worth of checks to the 31 former rebels who came from the provinces of Davao Oriental, Davao del Sur and Compostela Valley. Said returnees range from ages 15 to 45 years old.

Minor former rebels were profiled by Provincial Social Welfare and Development Head Ms. Josephine Frasco for their educational assistance. Provincial Director Noel C Duarte of DILG encouraged the former rebels to come up with business plan as attachment to the livelihood assistance worth P 50,000.00 which will be distributed next together with the firearms remuneration.

Col Macairog S Alberto, Commander of 1001st Brigade lauded the efforts of Provincial Government headed by Governor Jayvee Tyron L Uy, Director Noel C Duarte of DILG and Ms. Josephine M Frasco of Provincial Social Welfare and Development for their efforts in this endeavor.

He further emphasized that the Comprehensive Local Integration Program (CLIP) of DILG continues to give assurance of assistance to the Former Rebels and a hope to rebuild their life in joining the mainstream society. As support to Peace Process, we encourage our lost brothers to return to the comfort of their families, enjoy the spirit of Christmas with their loved ones and take advantage of government programs significantly the CLIP for an opportunity to live a peaceful and prosperous life.
