From the Philippine Information Agency (Oct 24): AgNor PDRRMO conducts ICS Training to 1st SAB
BUTUAN CITY -- The Agusan del Norte Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) conducted a three-day formal training of the Incident Command System (ICS) to the 1st Special Action Batallion (SAB), Philippine National Police-Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) held recently in the municipality of Santiago, this province.
SAB officers expressed their thanks to the provincial government for providing necessary support to their ICS training.
ICS is a standard, on scene, all hazard incident management concepts that can be used by all DRRM Councils. It is a disaster response tool that coordinates the actions of different groups by blending their complex organizational structures. The use of ICS can prevent or minimize loss of life or damage to property at the onset of disaster. It is a vital tool for effective disaster response.
The trainers/instructors were PDRRMO head Erma R. Suyo, Lorna C. Bayer of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and PDRRMO staff Merry Chris M. Cabonce.
Other four companies stationed and operating in Caraga Region also attended the said ICS training.
