From InterAksyon (Jun 4): WATCH | Lt. Col. Marcelino posts bail in illegal drugs case
Marine Lt. Col. Ferdinand Marcelino, a former director of the Special Enforcement Service of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), has been granted bail on Friday in connection with the drug case filed against him.
A Quezon City court set the bail at P93,000 for Marcelino’s temporary liberty.
Marcelino has been detained at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center in Camp Crame, Quezon City after he and his co-accused, Chinese national Yan Yi Shou, were apprehended last January 21 in an abandoned shabu laboratory in Sta. Cruz, Manila where authorities recovered more than P380 million worth of shabu.
The two were charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act particularly for manufacture, conspiracy to manufacture and possession of illegal drugs.
Marcelino was temprarily released from the PNP Custodial Center at about 7:30 p.m.
The Department of Justice is currently hearing the case against Marcelino.
But according to the court, the evidence against him was weak.
