Three suspected rebels of the New People’s Army (NPA) with
pending warrants of arrest involving frustrated murder and murder were collared
in a raid in a remote village in Butuan
City Friday morning.
Capt. Patrick Martinez, the spokesperson of the army’s 4th
Infantry Division, said that joint law enforcer operatives also recovered high
powered firearms, explosive devices, and subversive documents of high
intelligence value during the surprise raid in Lamusig, an outskirt community
in the village of Tungao in Butuan
City around 5 a.m.
Friday.
Martinez identified the suspects as Roldan Bunggolto,
alleged head of the NPA’s Militia Ng Bayan; Danilo Acania, Deputy Secretary,
and Jake Borja, all facing frustrated murder and murder cases in a local court
in Agusan Del Norte.
Recovered from the suspects were two M16 rifles, two sniper
rifles, one AK 47 rifle, two caliber 45, two caliber 38, one caliber 22 pistol,
two hand grenades, one improvised explosive device with detonating cord and
blasting caps and subversive documents.
Insp. Andrev G. Bautista and Insp. Julius Caesar Alamani,
the two police investigators who led the police team, said that a case of
illegal possession of explosive, firearms and ammunition would also be filed
against the suspects.
