U.S. Ambassador Philip S. Goldberg to host Iftar reception

From the Philippine Information Agency (Jun 28): U.S. Ambassador Philip S. Goldberg to host Iftar reception

U.S. Ambassador Philip S. Goldberg will host an iftar reception on June 28 at Taguig National High School, Barangay New Lower Bicutan, Taguig City.

An iftar is an evening meal to break the fast during Ramadan, the holy month of Muslims. The iftar is in partnership with local non-government organization Taja M. Basman Memorial Islamic Foundation (TMBMIF).

Prior to the iftar, Muslim youth leaders, with the support of U.S. Embassy Manila’s Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) and TMBMIF, will bring together 200 underprivileged children from Maharlika and Silangan Elementary Schools in Taguig for games, storytelling, and other activities as part of a community outreach activity.

The Embassy will also hold a forum with Muslim youth leaders to learn about their challenges and aspirations. (US Embassy Manila)
