From InterAksyon (Jun 23): Militiaman killed, another wounded in Davao City ambush
Suspected New People’s Army guerrillas ambushed two unarmed militiamen in Davao City Tuesday evening, killing one and wounding the other, the military said.
Captain Rhyan Batchar, 10th Infantry Division public affairs office chief, said in a statement Thursday that Mansarok Imbac and Ruel Salangoy were riding a motorcycle to buy food in Paradise Embac in Paquibato district when they were attacked around 6 p.m. in Purok 7 Cristory.
Mansarok died on the spot while Salangoy was rushed to a nearby hospital.
Troops of the 10th ID have launched a pursuit operation against the rebels.
