Troopers from the 3rd Infantry Division and operatives from
the Siaton Municipal Police Station have arrested a female New People's Army
(NPA) leader during operations in Negros Oriental Wednesday night.
Lt. Col. Ray C. Tiongson, 3rd Infantry Division
spokesperson, identified the rebel leader as Marilyn Badayos.
The latter was arrested during checkpoint operations in
Barangay Bondoc around 8:05 p.m while aboard a motorcycle headed for Dumaguete City .
Badayos was arrested by virtue of arrest warrants for
homicide and attempted homicide issued by Bais City Regional Trial Court Branch
45 Judge Candelario Guillermo V. Gonzalez.
Seized from her were .45 caliber pistol, a fragmentation
grenade and subversive documents.
After being informed of her constitutional rights, Badayos
was immediately taken to Siaton Municipal Police Station for filing of
appropriate charges.
