From the Philippine News Agency (Mar 22): Cops get 1st tranche of 4-year pay hike

The country’s 160,000-strong national police force will receive in April the first tranche of additional benefits package contained in Executive Order No. 201 by President Benigno S. Aquino III, effective Jan. 1, 2016, PNP spokesperson Chief Supt. Wilben Mayor said on Tuesday.

Mayor said that the grant of additional benefits, in the form of monthly Provisional Allowance for Military and Uniformed Personnel, Officers’ Allowance and increased Hazard Pay will be implemented in the next pay period in April 2016.

PNP Director for Comptrollership, Police Director Danilo S. Pelisco announced that the corresponding increase in differentials for January, February and March 2016 will be released on Wednesday, through the individual Land Bank of the Philippines ATM payroll accounts of PNP personnel.

EO 201, issued by President Aquino on Feb. 19, 2016, orders the implementation of a Modified Salary Schedule for civilian personnel and additional benefits to military and uniformed personnel over a 4-year period starting 2016 until 2019.

The first tranche of the monthly provisional allowance for uniformed police personnel ranges from Php342 for Police Officer 1 to Php 2,651 for Senior Police Officer IV; and Php 4,092 for Police Inspector to Php9,708 for Police Chief Superintendent.

The Hazard Pay of uniformed PNP personnel will be increased from the current monthly rate of Php 240 to Php 390 this year with subsequent annual increases up to Php840 in 2019.

Police Commissioned Officers with rank of Police Senior Superintendent to Police Director General will receive monthly Officers’ Allowance ranging from Php1,000 to Php 9,000 in the first tranche of implementation.

PNP Non-Uniformed Personnel (NUP), meanwhile, will receive the first tranche of the Modified Salary Schedule in April, with corresponding salary increase differential payable on March 23, 2016.

EO 201, also entitles all state workers to Mid-Year and Year-end bonuses beginning 2016 equivalent to one month basic salary.
