President Aquino reiterates call for passage of BBL

From the Philippine News Agency (Oct 12): President Aquino reiterates call for passage of BBL

President Benigno S. Aquino III on Monday urged anew Congress to pass the Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL), one of the important proposed bills of his administration, which will end decades-old conflict in Mindanao.

“Pangunahin na po sa akin ang BBL, na ang tanging layunin ay makasabay sa ating paghakbang ang mga kababayan nating nasa Muslim Mindanao,” the President said in his speech during the introduction of the Daang Matuwid coalition.

President Aquino noted that passing the Bangsamoro law is imperative for Mindanao and the Philippines.

The Chief Executive further said the proposed law will provide opportunity for each voice to be heard.

Under the BBL, President Aquino added the desires of leaders are conveyed through their representatives.
