BRP Laguna up for dry-docking

From the Philippine News Agency (Sep 18): BRP Laguna up for dry-docking

The Philippine Navy (PN) is allocating the sum of Php3,277,697.48 for the emergency dry-docking of one of its transport ships, the BRP Laguna (LT-501).

The PN operates around four to six transport ships of various sizes.

Pre-bid conference is scheduled for Sept. 24, 1 p.m. at the PN Bids and Awards Committee, Bonifacio Naval Station, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

A dry-docking is placing a vessel in a narrow basin that can be flooded to allow a load to be floated in, then drained to allow that load to come to rest on a dry platform.

It is used for the construction, maintenance, and repair of ships, boats, and other water craft.
