The 303rd Infantry Brigade of the Philippine Army based in Murcia ,
Negros Occidental will spearhead a 100-kilometer bike ride for peace and
progress on September 26.
Anchored on the theme, “A 100-kilometer Ride for 100%
Commitment to Peace,” the bike ride will kick off from the Capitol Lagoon in Bacolod at 4 a.m.
Bikers will proceed to southern Negros and will pass through
the cities of La Carlota and Bago and the municipalities of Murcia , San Enrique, Valladolid , and Pulupandan.
Capt. Russel Anthony Bumanglag, civil military operations
officer of the 303rd IB, said the activity, which is part of the observance of
the Peace Consciousness Month, aims to promote a united community for peace,
progress and prosperity in Negros Occidental.
Bumanglag said the highlight of the activity is the
oath-taking and signing of peace covenant by the ride participants, guests, and
Negrense constituents.
Expected to join the tour are bikers from the Armed Forces
of the Philippines, other law enforcement agencies, local government units,
non-government organizations, private groups, business sector, youth sector,
bike clubs, and cycling enthusiasts.
Aside from the Bike Ride for Peace, the 303rd IB is also
holding civic action in the different localities in the province, the latest of
which was held in San Enrique town.
