A four-month pregnant mother was among the four civilians killed in a massacre last November 30 perpetrated by New People’s Army in Sitio Latay, Barangay Marfil, Rosario, Agusan del Sur.

The bandits belonging to Guerilla Front 14 of NPA assaulted an ambulance with fourteen passengers coming from a church activity of Wayside Bible Baptist Church at Sitio Latay.

“We cannot imagine the trauma that the survivors and the families of the victims are suffering. It is for this reason that we are appealing to the organizations and persons who are skilled to assist in handling trauma cases,” Lt Col Norman Alcovindas of 75th Infantry Battalion said.

“This is clear evidence that NPAs are more than just criminals but a terrorist group,” 4th Infantry Division Commander MGen Oscar T Lactao said. “These people came from a thanks giving mass and were probably praying for peace in their community but these Godless NPAs attacked them.”
