The Office of the Ombudsman (Ombudsman) on Thursday ordered
a six-month suspension against Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Director
General Alan Purisima in connection with the alleged anomalous contract between
the Philippine National Police (PNP) and a courier service in 2011.
Assistant Ombudsman Asryman Rafanan said that the suspension
imposed against Purisima will last for a period of six months while he is being
investigated.
Rafanan said that Purisima will not receive his salary
within a period of six months.
According to the Ombudsman, after receipt of the order, the
Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) should immediately implement
the suspension against Purisima.
