A Moro farmer, Kenti Diagao, 44 years old with four (4) children and a resident of Sitio Taculen, Barangay East Patadon, Kidapawan City in North Cotabato was treacherously murdered and beheaded by unidentified armed men at about 10:00am on May 30, 2014 while at his farm at West Patadon, Matalam, North Cotabato to harvest his agricultural products.

Responding members of the Matalam Philippine National Police (PNP) to the crime scene found empty shells of 12 Gauge Shotgun believed to have been used in the murder of Diagao. He suffered from multiple gunshot wounds at the back of his body an indication that he was shot treacherously while tending his farm.  His family recovered his body but failed to locate his head and are crying for justice.

In a press release dated June 2, 2014, Abdulbasit R. Benito, Executive Director of the Mindanao Human Rights Action Center (MinHRAC) condemned Diagao’s barbaric murder in the highest possible term, urged and demanded to the LGU’s of Kidapawan City, Matalam and the Provincial Government of North Cotabato to immediately conduct an impartial investigation and give justice to the bereaved family of Diagao.
MinHRAC in its press release also demanded to concerned authorities to help the victim’s family seek for justice. It further called on the LGU’s to provide assistance for the immediate needs of the family. It also challenged the GPH-MILF Coordinating Committee on the Cessation of Hostilities to intercede and help resolve the incident in the earliest possible time.
