From the Philippine News Agency (Sep 27): Gov't forces pursuing suspected BIFF men who toppled transmission tower in Cotabato

Government security forces are now pursuing suspected Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) who destroyed a transmission tower Kabawan, Cotabato Thursday night.

The incident took place 7:45 p.m. in Sitio Malabuaya, Barangay Kayaga, Kabawan town.

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippine tower in the above-mentioned locality was toppled using improvised explosive devices.

This caused a massive blackout all over Maguindanao.

Units conducting pursuit operations are the PNP-Kabacan, 7th Infantry Battalion and the 6th Explosive Ordnance Team, 6th Infantry Division spokesperson Col. Dickson Hermoso said.
