From InterAksyon (Aug 21): Soldier killed, 3 wounded in clash with NPA in Isabela
A soldier was killed and three others wounded in a clash with New People’s Army guerrillas in San Mariano, Isabela Tuesday night.
The Army’s 5th Infantry Division reported that the soldiers, from the 52nd Division Reconnaissance Company, were on a combat operation in Barangay Balagan when they encountered 29 NPA fighters around 10 p.m. Tuesday.
The retreating rebels left behind two improvised explosive devices and six backpacks.
The fatality was identified as Private First Class Reisman Atalli.
The wounded, who are recuperating at the V Luna Medical Center in Quezon City, are Private Rafael Langao, Private First Class Roque Ganalon and Corporal Steve Bimmoy.
