The adviser of President Benigno Simeon Aquino III on peace process on Wednesday belittled threats by factions of the Moro National Liberation Front regarding the government's peace pact with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front. Tersita Quintos-Deles, presidential adviser on the peace process, said in a television interview that the MNLF's threat to sue the Philippines before international courts would be a mistake because the signatories in the Philippine-MNLF accord, signed in 1996, was between two domestic actors. The 1996 agreement paved the way for the establishment of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. "That was a domestic agreement signed by two domestic actors - the national government and the MNLF. Also, look at the international support that we are getting for this agreement; even the UN (United Nations) secretary general fully supports [this peace pact]," Deles said....
