The government peace panel said there is no reason to defer the signing of the framework agreement with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) despite protests against and opposition on the peace pact. The panel added that it sees no "fatal error" in the framework agreement despite claims that the peace agreement contains ambiguous provisions. “[We] find no fatal error in the agreement and we find it is not unconstitutional or illegal,” Marvic Leonen, chairman of the government panel, told local radio RMN in this city Monday morning. The agreement is expected to be signed by the government and the MILF on Monday afternoon. Leonen added that compared to the other agreements that were previously signed with the MILF, the framework agreement “is the most...constitutional, democratic, the most people driven agreement ever....”
