From the Philippine Star (Sep 29):  "Fragile peace" as bandits stop attacks

A “fragile peace” can now be felt in the five Maguindanao towns bandits subjected to a 10-day violent foray last August, but the police and military are still not taking chances. Col. Prudencio Asto, public affairs chief of the Army’s 6th Infantry Division, said they appreciate the continuing efforts of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front to prevent bandits belonging to the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters from just even getting close to highways traversing the five municipalities.
