The next regular holiday in the Philippines in 2012 is on October 26, a Friday, in solidarity with Muslims’ tribute to patriarch Ibrahim (Abraham) for his willing sacrifice of his son Ishmael to Allah in an act of obedience. Through this year’s Proclamation No. 295, President Benigno Aquino III extends the Muslim religious holiday Eid’l Adha commemorating the sacrifice of Abraham, whose commitment Allah tested, to all Filipinos of different creeds....
