Rights group Karapatan on Friday slammed the Aquino government for allegedly lying on the human rights situation in the Philippines in exchange for $13 million in US military aid. “Human rights defenders, victims and their relatives, and communities under military attack can attest to the prevailing, if not more emboldened, climate of impunity under Aquino," Karapatan Secretary General Cristina Palabay said.
