From the Philippine Star (Sep 27, 2023): 2 ‘gun dealers’ slain in Sultan Kudarat shootout (By John Unson)
COTABATO CITY, Philippines — Two suspected gun dealers were killed in a shootout with law enforcers in Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat on Monday.Brig. Gen. Jimili Lopez Macaraeg, Soccksargen police director, identified the fatalities as Abdullazis Bukakong and Alimudin Tayan.
Macaraeg said suspects opened fire when they sensed that they had sold two sniper rifles to policemen who posed as buyers in Barangay Didtaras.
The Lambayong police said Bukakong was a member of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters while Tayan belonged to the Moro Islamic Liberation Front.
