Three CNTs surrender to Army's 10IB in Misamis Occidental

IPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay Province-three Communist NPA Terrorists (CNT) under the weakened Guerilla Front Sendong, voluntarily surrendered themselves to the 10th Infantry (Steady On) Battalion, yesterday, September 6, 2023.

The individuals who surrendered are identified as Juanito Gumelos Jalalon (alias Jofel/Gino), 28 years old, from Brgy Lalud, DVC, Misamis Occidental; Jenela Tomobo Minguay (alias Rica), 25 years old, from Brgy Tuno, DVC, Misamis Occidental; and Renie Ansigue Lubetanya (alias Jeboy), 30 years old, from Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur.

Their decision of returning to the folds of the law was primarily motivated by the hardships they faced during their involvement with the Guerilla Front Sendong.

Lieutenant Colonel Jose Andre R. Monje, the Commanding Officer of the 10th Infantry Battalion, assured the surrendered individuals of their safety while they are in their custody.

"We will take care of the surrenderers and facilitate their enrollment in the government's Enhanced-Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP)." Lt. Col. Monje said.

While enrolling in the E-CLIP program, the Provincial Government of Misamis Occidental, led by their Provincial Governor, the Honorable Henry S. Oaminal, has committed to providing immediate cash assistance of Three Hundred Thousand Pesos (PhP300,000.00) each to support the reintegration process of the surrenderers.

Meanwhile, Brigadier General Elmer B. Suderio, the Commander of the 102nd Infantry (Igsoon) Brigade, expressed his gratitude to the surrenderers for making the right decision.
 
"I call on other members of Guerilla Front Sendong to follow the path of these three individuals. I am reasuring you that we will treat you humanely and with utmost respect." Brig. Gen. Suderio said.

Moreover, Major General Antonio G. Nafarrete, the Commander of the 1st Infantry (Tabak) Division, commended the efforts of the 10th Infantry Battalion. "I commend the 10th Infantry Battalion for their dedication and hardwork in this endeavor. With this accomplishment, we are now one step closer to the dismantling of the entire Western Mindanao Regional Party Committee." Maj. Gen. Nafarrete added.
As of this posting, the three surrenderers were brought to Mayor Hilarion A. Ramiro Sr. Medical Center (MHARS-MC) for medical check-up to ensure that they are in the best health condition.
