PMC-USMC MARINE AVIATION SUPPORT ACTIVITY 23 KICKS-OFF IN PALAWAN.
Puerto Princesa City – The Marine Aviation Support Activity (MASA) 23 events in Palawan officially started following the simultaneous PMC wide virtual opening ceremony attended by the 3rd Marine Brigade personnel and United States Marine Corps (USMC) counterparts at Headquarters 3rd Marine Brigade, Barangay Tiniguiban, PPC on Thursday, July 6, 2023.
The Marine Aviation Support Activity is an annual military exercise between the Marine Corps’ of the US and the Philippines focusing on mutual defense, counter-terrorism, humanitarian assistance, and disaster relief. For this year, the MASA 23 will focus on enhancing capabilities, joint inter-operability, and capability development on aviation-supported operations. The training activities will be held in various exercise areas in Northern Luzon Command (NOLCOM), Western Command (WESCOM), and Visayas Command (VIZCOM) Joint Operational Areas.
"The MASA 23 exercise in Palawan is important for our Marine forces to enhance our interoperability allowing us to operate seamlessly in joint operations with the US Marine Corps counterpart.” BGEN MANGOROBAN, Commander 3rd Marine Brigade, said.
"Likewise, this bilateral defense cooperation will reinforce our long-standing alliance with the United States Armed Forces.” he added.
