MAWAB, DAVAO DE ORO – Northern Luzon Command (NOLCOM) Commander Lt Gen Ernesto C Torres Jr with his wife, Mrs. Evangeline C Torres visited the Headquarters, 10th Infantry “Agila” Division as he renders his exit call as part of his series of activities from February 11 to 14, 2022 to various elected officials whom he worked side by side during his term as commander 10ID.

The 10th Infantry “Agila” Division, on February 11, welcomed anew in a traditional military honors its Commander LtGen Torres at Camp General Manuel T Yan Sr., Tuboran, Mawab, Davao de Oro that was then followed by a talk to troops to express his gratitude for their contributions that led to the successful campaign of 10ID during his stint as commander.

LtGen Torres also met with the 10th Infantry Division Multi-Sector Advisory and Action Group members with its chair Mr. Ednar Dayanghirang for a Despedida Lunch. During his speech, LtGen Torres also expresses his gratitude to MSAAG members and its chairman for their cooperation.

Meanwhile, Davao De Oro Governor Jayvee Tyron Uy together with his Vice-Governor Maricar Zamora visited Camp General Manuel T Yan Sr in Mawab, Davao De Oro, and met with LtGen Torres for his exit call to the host province of the Agila Division. In the afternoon, he proceeded to 2nd District Representative of Davao De Oro Ruwel Peter S Gonzaga.

Later that day, LtGen Torres also met with Tagum City Mayor Allan Rellon at Tagum City Hall followed by his exit call to Davao Del Norte Governor Edwin Jubahib along with Davao Del Norte 1st District Representative Pantaleon Alvarez inside the governor’s residence in Tagum City.

On February 12, LtGen Torres headed south to render his exit call to Davao Occidental lone district Representative Lorna Bautista-Bandigan inside her residence in Malita, Davao Occidental. The trip south was followed by a visit to Cotabato Provincial Governor Nancy Catamco at her residence at Kidapawan City.

On his flight back to Davao City, LtGen Torres was received and given an arrival honor by Tactical Operations Wing Eastern Mindanao Commander BGEN JEFFREY M VILELA PAF in Sasa, Davao City after his party landed at the headquarters of said unit.

During his exit call, LtGen Torres gave plaques to all elected officials he visited as a simple gesture of appreciation to their cooperation and contribution to the mission accomplishment of 10ID.

LtGen Torres also vowed to his former counterparts that he will continue and bring the best practices displayed by the elected officials and the Agila Division in his new assignment in Northern Luzon as he ventures more than counter-insurgency towards Territorial Defense as he will cover contested areas in the West Philippine Sea and Benham Rise with forces from the Navy, Air Force deploys in his area of responsibility at his disposal under his operational control.
