The Philippine Army’s new commander Romeo Brawner, Jr. is gravely mistaken for assuming that the revolutionary struggle of the masses will finally be crushed this time. Those who came before him failed, he certainly will fail as well.
It is no surprise for Duterte to choose the bloodthirstiest among his men, such as Brawner, to lead the war of suppression to its final point. He and the 4th ID are responsible for the traitorous murders of Jorge “Ka Oris” Madlos and Ka Pica last October. As commander of the 4th ID, he pursued the campaign ‘surrender or be killed’ which resulted to intensified aerial bombing operations and killings in Northern Mindanao.
He, alongside the 103rd Brigade, led the siege of Marawi that killed tens of thousands. Likewise, controversial hazing incidents surfaced during his stint as the Commandant of Cadets of the Philippine Military Academy. He was also one of the brains behind the military’s intensified disinformation campaign as chief of the AFP Public Affairs Office.
Brawner brings this notorious and murderous reputation in the regime’s supposed final blow campaign against the CPP-NPA-NDF. This campaign is nothing more but the last desperate chapter of the US-Duterte regime’s long-drawn out insurgency campaign which has failed repeatedly in crushing the mass movement and the revolutionary movement. This is tantamount to more terroristic bombings by the army’s war aircrafts, focused combat operations and military occupation. In fact, the KKK (kasanayan ng tropa, kalusugan at kapakanan ng pamilya) or Skills, Health and Welfare he touts is but a devious plan to further mold the military as savage criminals and prepare them for more battles.
In Bikol, this means that the military will surpass their already delirious militarization campaign, killings, fake surrenderees and attacks conducted in the region by past commanders of the Philippine Army.
But these will never make the Bikolano people fold. Rather, this signals the need for them to further advance their revolutionary and just armed struggle as their only weapon in defeating the state’s terrorist rampage under Duterte.
With this, the Romulo Jallores Command BHB-Bikol calls on the Bikolano masses and all units of the Red Army to prepare and fight with all their might the worsening military attacks of the US-Duterte regime. They must mount more successful tactical offensives that shall mete revolutionary punishment to the murderous criminals of the state, that shall frustrate the regime’s dirty war and that shall further expose the terrorist and rotten core of the reactionary state and its forces. In all these, reason, experience and history shall always be on their side.
