Posted to Kalinaw News (Jun 10, 2021): 1 NPA Neutralized in Laguna Clash with AFP-PNP

CAMP CAPINPIN, Tanay, Rizal – An NPA member died following an encounter between joint AFP-PNP forces and the communist terrorist group in Lusiana, Laguna on Wednesday, June 9.

BGen Alex S Rillera, Commander of the 202nd Infantry Brigade, said soldiers and police acted on reports of CTG presence at Brgy Dela Paz when they encountered more or less 7 NPAs. “This triggered a 10-minute firefight that resulted in the death of one rebel and the recovery of a Garand rifle.”

“May this development bring the few remaining rebels to peacefully surrender because we will never rejoice in the death of our fellowmen. We have, however, a duty to protect our people from the harms of terrorism, and we shall see to it that we will emerge victorious in this near-ending war.” The 2ID leadership commended the unrelenting efforts of our troops, their unity with the police, and the cooperation of all levels of government through the Task Forces to End Local Communist Armed Conflict and the citizens in our area of operation.

Available military assets are placed on high alert to support the ongoing pursuit operations against the fleeing NPA terrorists.
