MARAWI CITY, May 19 (PIA) -- As part of its support to the conduct of Marawi Week of Peace and its continuing social and peacebuilding activities, the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP) started the distribution of 50 kilos of rice to internally displaced persons (IDPs) of this City, Tuesday, May 18.OPAPP targets to distribute rice to a total of 1,440 households. Of this, 320 are from Rorogagus Transitory Shelter Site, 710 from Boganga Transitory Shelter Site, 160 hostage survivors and 250 Daesh rebel returnees.
“Itong rice distribution ay bahagi pa rin sa patuloy na pagsuporta sa TFBM particularly under Subcommittee on Peace and Order,” said Vannesa Pallarco, Director of OPAPP’s Social Healing and Peacebuilding (SHAPE) Program.
[This rice distribution is still part of the ongoing support for TFBM particularly under the Subcommittee on Peace and Order.]
Pallarco emphasized the commitment of OPAPP continues while there are still challenges brought about by the pandemic.
“Para sa ating mga beneficiaries, andito parin ang OPAPP para suportahan at tulungan ang IDPs. Meron lang talagang challenges brought about by pandemic. InshaAllah kapag medyo namitigate ang areas, namanage ang cases ay paunti-unti makakabalik na sa old normal na pagconduct ng solidarity activities,” she added.
[For our beneficiaries, OPAPP is still here to support and assist IDPs. There are challenges brought about by pandemic. if Allaw wills it, when the areas are somewhat mitigated, when cases are managed, we will gradually return to the old normal conduct of solidarity activities.]
Aisah Mansalulud from Rorogagus Shelter Site expressed her gratitude for the assistance given to them.
“Para sa amin malaking tulong ito lalo na sa shelter. Nagpapasalamt kami sa OPAPP, sa natatanggap namin,” Mansalulud said.
