CAMP CAPINPIN, Tanay, Rizal – The surrender of the Secretary General of Karapatan Quezon to the Army’s 2nd Infantry Division on Monday, April 5, unraveled the mastered propaganda tactics of the Communist legal fronts.

Genelyn Dichoso surrendered to the government security forces through the help of the local government at Catanauan town’s Brgy 10 Poblacion. Karapatan Quezon is among the legal fronts established by the CPP-NDF to spread lies and deceive people into turning against the government.

Contrary to the claims of Karapatan Timog Katagalugan that “the military arrested Dichoso after she has been continuously harassed by the military”, the latter voluntarily surrendered after she realized that “only selfish interests of the few are being prioritized by the NPA and that there is nothing to gain in supporting the armed group.”

An affidavit of surrender was signed by Dichoso and the local officials stating her true intention of voluntary surrender without being harassed by the government forces.

BGen Rommel K Tello, Acting Commander of 2ID, slammed the false claims of Karapatan Southern Tagalog, saying that “your lies are now being revealed by those among you who have come to their senses, as such, your Philippine Army will never falter until all your deceptive tactics will be completely exposed to the people.”

“The surrender further solidifies the CPP – NPA’s irrecoverable defeat considering that not only its ordinary fighters are disillusioned but there are also indications of discontent among their top leaders.”

The 2ID leadership expressed its gratitude to the NTF-ELCAC’s whole-of-nation approach that is gaining ground not only to the people but also to the CPP-NPA-NDF leaders and members. As such, the government remains vocal in its call for the last of the remaining NPAs to surrender and join the path to peace before they suffer senseless death fighting for a wrong cause.

“Let it be realized that your duly constituted government is always there to serve and protect its people from the harms of terrorism, no more no less,” Tello ended.

Dichoso will undergo the reintegration process, medical check-up by the health professionals, and debriefing among others while the Army will ensure her safety from the NPA’s retaliatory acts against those who heed the call for peace.
