ILOILO CITY, April 24 (PIA) – The top official of the Army’s 301st Infantry (Bayanihan) Brigade is looking forward to a closer partnership with the University of the Philippines –Visayas.


This, after 301Bde Commander, Brigadier General Marion Sison, paid a visit to UP Visayas– Miagao Campus on Wednesday, April 21.

Sison said they were delighted with the warm welcome given to them by the UP Visayas officials.

“This symbolizes a meaningful beginning of a strong collaboration between the two government organizations,” he said.

Sison added “With this, we are looking forward to more joint venture with them in the future that will serve the best interests of the Army and the University.”

UP-Visayas University Chancellor Dr. Clement Camposano and his staff gladly welcomed Sison, 61st Infantry Battalion Commander Colonel Joel Benedict Batara and other Army officials in the university, said 301Bde Civil Military Operations (CMO) Officer Capt. Hazel Joy Durotan.


Part of the visit was a short dialogue with the UP Chancellor that focused on strengthening the partnership of the Army and the University for the future endeavors, she said.

To acquaint further with other scholastic agenda and activities of UP Visayas, the army officials had a brief tour to some of the facilities of the university.

They were also given a chance to witness the capability demonstration of the said academic institution, Durotan said. (PIA6/CMO-301Bde/Philippine Army)
