Kalinaw News (Feb 4, 2021): Planned Terrorist Attack Repulsed by Operating Troops in Maguindanao

Camp Siongco, Awang, DOS, Maguindanao – The troops of Joint Task Force Central recovered various components of an Improvised Explosive Device and uniforms used by Daesh inspired Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters or BIFF in Datu Piang, Maguindanao in the afternoon of February 4, 2021.

The 6th Infantry Battalion Commanding Officer, Lt. Col. Charlie C. Banaag, conducted combat clearing operation in the barangays of Alonganen and Buayan in the said town to repel the presence of BIFF.

“Our units Scout Platoon led by 2Lt. Bryan Arnold T. Beriña supported by artillery fires conducted combat clearing operations in the two barangays due to the reported presence of the BIFF members planning to conduct terroristic attacks” according to Lt. Col. Banaag.

During the operation, 6IB troops recovered an IED components and five BIFF battle dress uniforms.Major General Juvymax R. Uy, Commander JTFC and 6ID lauded the troops of 6th Infantry Battalion for a job well done, “Keep up the good work, do your best and always guard your flanks, to ensure success in all your operations” Maj. Gen. Uy’s message to the Redskin troopers.
