Kalinaw News (Feb 4, 2021): 12 More High Powered Firearms Surrendered to Army Troops in Maguindanao



CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao – Another supportive officials from the Municipality of Datu Montawal, Maguindanao helped in the campaign against loose firearms program of the government by turning over twelve high powered firearms at the Session Hall of the said Municipality, February 4, 2021.

Datu Montawal Mayor Ohto Montawal led the turnover of the loose firearms to Brigadier General Roberto Capulong, Commander, 602Bde assisted by Lieutenant Colonel Rommel Mundala, Commanding Officer of 90IB.

Surrendered firearms are the following: nine (9) Garand Rifle, one (1) Muzzle Caliber .30, one (1) 7.62 Sniper Rifle and one (1) Carbine rifle.Major General Juvymax R. Uy, Commander of 6th Infantry Division and Joint Task Force Central said that only government troops, AFP, PNP, CAFGU and other law enforcement agencies are allowed to possess and carry firearms. “Those people who unlawfully carry or possess firearms will be subjected to law enforcement operations”, said Maj. Gen. Uy stated.
