Camp Navarro, Calarian, Zamboanga City- November 20, 2020Police Maj. Gen. Jose Chiquito Malayo, the newly appointed Director of the Directorate for Integrated Police Operations-Western Mindanao (DIPO-WM) visited the Western Mindanao Command on Friday afternoon, November 20, 2020.
He was accompanied by Police Regional Office 9 Regional Director Police Brig. Gen. Jesus Cambay, and other PNP officers.
In his message, PMaj. Gen. Malayo said that as the new director of DIPO-Western Mindanao he wants to establish good coordination with the military to prevent miscommunication especially during the conduct of joint operations.
Likewise, Lt. Gen. Vinluan, Jr. said that good coordination is the key to achieve greater success in the interagency peace efforts.
“Let us continue to support each other for the common good,” Lt. Gen. Vinluan, Jr. added.
During his arrival, PMaj. Gen. Malayo was welcomed with full military honors rendered by the officers, enlisted personnel, and civilian human resource of the Western Mindanao Command at the unit’s Parade Ground in Camp Navarro, Calarian, Zamboanga City at 2 p.m.
He was then received by WestMinCom Commander Lt. Gen. Corleto Vinluan, Jr. together with Deputy Commander Brig. Camilo Balutan, Naval Forces Western Mindanao Commander Commodore Toribio Adaci, Jr. and the command staff at the Bautista Lounge of the command.
PMaj. Gen. Malayo is a graduate of the Philippine Military Academy “Makatao” Class of 1989. He was the former director of the Philippine National Police Academy.
The DIPO-WM is involved in directing and conducting integrated anti-crime, internal security, and other counter-terrorism operations in the Western Mindanao area.
