CAMP Siongco, Maguindanao – Operating troops of the 90th Infantry (Bigkis Lahi) Battalion under 6th Infantry Division seized six various firearms in Matalam, North Cotabato on November 4, 2020. These weapons were discovered while the army troops are conducting focused military operations in the area.
The firearms found were one M16 with long magazine loaded with 28 ammo; two Caliber .45 Pistols with four magazines loaded with 31 ammo; two Garand Rifles with 6 clips ammo; one Carbine Rifle with two magazines loaded with 22 serviceable ammo. Two civilian backpacks and other personal belongings were also recovered.
“The operating troops of 6ID with the full support of the civilian populace and other stakeholders will continue to secure the communities and its people to sustain the peace and pave the way for development”, said Major General Juvymax R. Uy, Commander of 6ID and Joint Task Force Central.
Likewise, the Commander of JTF Central urged the people of South-Central Mindanao to continue supporting the government’s campaign against lawless elements and communist-terrorist threats. “Rest assured that your Kampilan troopers will continue to perform its mandate of protecting the people and securing our communities. I am calling everyone to remain vigilant and continue to support our security efforts”, Maj. Gen. Uy added.
