ASIPULO, Ifugao, Oct. 22 (PIA) - - The government through the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (ECLIP) has provided more than P6 million- worth of assistance and benefits to former rebels and their supporters in the province.

The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) reported that a total of 134 regular New Peoples Army (NPA) and Militia ng Bayan (MB) members mostly from the municipalities of Asipulo and Tinoc had surrendered to government authorities at the end of 2019. The government provided these surrenderees a total of Php6, 577,000.00-worth of assistance consisting of immediate assistance, livelihood assistance and firearm remunerations.

Morever, the 54th Infantry Battalion reported that through their Community Support Program in partnership with all stakeholders, the Kilusang Larangang Guerilya (KLG) – Ifugao was dismantled in the fourth quarter of 2019.

This group operated in the municipalities of Tinoc, Asipulo, southern part of Hungduan and Western part of Lamut including the towns of Ambaguio and Villaverde inNueva Vizcaya. (JDP/MBL-PIA CAR, Ifugao)
