Kalinaw News: 6th FAB Wins the Endurance Firing; 38th IB Bags Map Reading and Land Navigation

Posted to the Kalinaw News (Oct 21, 2020): 6th FAB Wins the Endurance Firing; 38th IB Bags Map Reading and Land Navigation (By 6th Infantry Division)



CAMP Siongco, Maguindanao – The team from 6th Field Artillery Battalion (6FAB) was declared as the winner in the endurance firing while the pair from 38th Infantry (We Clear) Battalion won the Map reading and Land Navigation in the first day of Amazing Race dubbed as “KAMPILAN Buddy Challenge 2020” held at 602nd Brigade, Camp Lucero, Carmen, North Cotabato on October 19, 2020.

With so much enthusiasm, courage and zeal, the team of 6th FAB won by hitting 9 bull’s eye of their targets with the least time during the running phase of this event.

In the Map Reading and land navigation competition, the team from 38th Infantry (We Clear) Battalion got the first place, followed by teams from Tactical Operations Group (TOG12) as 2nd place and 6th IB as the 3rd placer.

All other teams were determined to finish on top but in every game, there are always those who are better than the others, thus exemplifies the essence of sportsmanship.

“Attitude lang talaga, huwag lang maging negatibo at pag-aralan ang bawat movements ng laro” one of the participants said during the interview while the event is ongoing.

Major General Juvymax R. Uy, Commander of Joint Task Force Central said that he replicated the amazing race from the United States when he took courses there. He wanted to share those experiences to the soldiers of 6th ID and JTF Central to better enhance the skills, stamina and camaraderie among our units. It is also highlight by the participation of the different stakeholders which the command considers as the “Buddy’s” in bring peace, security, prosperity and development in this part of Mindanao.

This year’s anniversary activities focused on the theme “Tatlumpu’t Tatlong Taon na Makataong Serbisyo kaisa ang Mamamayan tungo sa Kapayapaan, Kasaganahan at Kaunlaran ng Timog Sentral Mindanao.”
