Camp Melchor F Dela Cruz, Upi, Gamu, Isabela- Through the successful implementation of the Community Support Program (CSP) facilitated by the 5th Infantry Division, Philippine Army, the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and Provincial Government of Isabela assisted residents to address their primary issues and concerns.



4,687 Certificate of Land Ownership Award were given to 3,715 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) in 25 municipalities in the said province with 5, 729 total land area. Water pumps worth of P57,776.00 was also awarded including P6.9M worth of various farm inputs and P2.5M worth of tractors to the beneficiries.

DAR Secretary John Castriciones acknowledged the efforts and importance of the farmers in the country. “We express our appreciation to our farmers bringing food to our tables.”

Meanwhile, the DPWH completed the construction of bridge worth of 50 million pesos in Benito Soliven, Isabela connecting the Barangays of Andabuen, Ara, Capuseran, Guilingan, Balilao and Nacalma. The bridge was implemented under the “Tulay ng Pangulo para sa Repormang Agraryo” project benefits 1,574 ARBs to easily transport their agricultural products from farms to markets and other trading centers.

The bridge serves as an access to increase economic activities in the province of Isabela particularly in the municipality of Benito Soliven. The residents now have an easy access to transport their farm products and buy products in commercial areas.

Said services and projects were delivered to respond to the CSP identified primary issues which includes land reform and road access to transport farm products.

BGen Laurence E Mina PA, Commander of 5ID, lauded the unified efforts of the Command, the different government line agencies and the Provincial Government of Isabela centered towards people welfare.

He reiterated the importance of the Community Support Program in identifying issues in the communities particularly in the conflict affected areas.

“The projects and services provided for the public is a testimony of the government’s desire to address people’s concerns. United in action, the different government agencies together with the security forces will continuously work hand in hand for the benefit of the people.”
