NPA EXTORTIONIST KILLED IN ENCOUNTER WITH SECURITY FORCES IN MASBATE
The people of Monreal, Masbate reported a group of NPA terrorists extorting money and supplies in their place to which the PNP and AFP responded.
A brief five minutes exchange of gunshots occured between the escaping NPA terrorists and government forces which leave one terrorist dead in that Sunday morning of September 6 at Brgy Morocjorocan.
The casualty was identified as “Ka Roy”, member of Larangan 1, Komiteng Probinsya 4 of Bicol Regional Party Committee (BRPC).
One shotgun and undetermined amount of cash were captured from the fleeing CTGs.
Joint Task Force Bicolandia under MGEN HENRY A ROBINSON JR PA condemned the continuous extortion activities of the CTG amid the COVID-19 crisis.
“Public knowledge naman ang dobleng hirap na nararanasan natin ngayon dahil sa epekto ng pandemic. Marami ang nawalan ng trabaho at nahihirapang maghanap-buhay dahil sa mga restrictions na ipinatutupad bilang bahagi ng COVID-19 protocols. The continuous extortion activities of this terrorist group is a total neglect of the people’s everyday struggles. Makasariling gawain na hindi dapat tularan. Thus, your Army in Bicol is relentless and persistent in its thrusts to put an end to the CTG’s unlawful activities and acts of terrorism,” MGen. Robinson added.
