Canta added that it had been a challenge for the team to complete the projects considering the ongoing pandemic, occasional unfavorable weather conditions as well as the persistent threat of harassment by the New People’s Army communist-terrorist group (CTG).
Canta thanked the 17th IB led by its Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Angelo C Saguiguit for providing security forces throughout the entire duration of the projects which prevented the CTG from carrying out terrorist activities.

In addition, Brigadier General George A Blanco, wing commander of 355th AEW, commended 355th AEW and 17th IB personnel for their sacrifice, dedication and even risk of life in order to complete the projects which will greatly benefit the residents of Rizal and surrounding areas.
Mamba, on the other hand, thanked the AFP for its support to the efforts of the Provincial Government in improving public works in Cagayan which will help not only in alleviating the economic effects of COVID-19 but also in stressing to its constituents that the CPP-NPA-NDF terrorist organization is meant to harm the Filipino people and sabotage government efforts in attaining peace and national development.
