BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Aug. 27 (PIA) - The Philippine National Police (PNP) here has facilitated the voluntary surrender of a Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) member during the third quarter of this year.
Police Col. Richard Saavedra, PNP provincial director identified the CTG surrenderee as Arsenio Ferrer, alias 'Xian/Jerwin' of barangay Nagbitin in Villaverde town.

He said Ferrer was a member of Do Squad Dos Platoon Dos of the Danilo Ben Command under the Komiteng Larangan ng West Cagayan who surrendered at Villaverde Police Station in last month.
"This is another successful campaign on our efforts to bring in to government care our fellow Filipinos in the CTG movement. This will contribute to our continuing campaign to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) in our communities," Saavedra said.
His report was read during the joint meeting of the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC), Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC) and Provincial Task Force-End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) at the Pasalubong Center yesterday.
The police director said the CTG surrenderee also yielded a .38 Caliber Revolver with live ammunitions, 13 pieces of live M79 ammunitions, subversive documents and personal belongings.(MDCT/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
