Four communist New People’s Army (NPA) fighters decided to lay down their arms Friday to the Regional Mobile Force Battalion headquarters of the Police Regional Office-Caraga (PRO-13) in Camp Col. Rafael C. Rodriguez in Butuan city.

The former rebels surrendered "due to the hunger that they could no longer withstand and the fatigue their bodies could no longer bear."

The former rebels will be enrolled in the government's Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) where they can get livelihood assistance, medical assistance, education, housing, and legal assistance for them and for their family.
