MALITA, Davao Occidental – The 73rd Infantry (Neutralizer) Battalion is earnestly committed to support the plight of the rebel returnees in compliance with the Balik-Loob Program through Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) under the Executive Order 70 that aims to end local communist armed conflict.

In this connection, a livelihood program coined as “Bagong Buhay, Bagong Pag-asa” was launched which aims to train the rebel returnees with enough skills in order to live in normalcy and adjust comfortably after they have decided to return to the folds of the law.

Under the Bagong Buhay, Bagong Pag-asa Program are Vegetable Farming, Chicken, Duck and Goat Raising. The battallion purposely created a “NEUTRALIZER DEMO FARM” as a Laboratory Training Center for the returnees. The rebel returness were taught effective hands-on skills in farming by the able and competent soldiers and personnel from the Provincial Agriculture Office.

Aside from livelihood training, the returnees were also given the opportunity to mingle and familiarize with their surrounding in order to polish their social skills.

These trainings were specifically directed towards equipping the rebel returnees with enough abilities to make a sustainable living in preparation for their reintegration to the mainstream society.
