BALER, AURORA – Despite of NPA’s treacherous attack to the government troops of Sinagtala Battalion while conducting security patrol that resulted to the death of two soldiers and the implementation of Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ), the 91st Infantry Battalion continually conducting the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) in clearing the affected Barangays from Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF) influence, and affectation.
In relation with this, joint elements of Aurora Police Provincial Office, 1st provincial mobile force company headed by force commander Police Major Jun dela Cruz and 91st Infantry (Sinagtala) Battalion, 3rd Civil Military Operations Company, 71st Military Intelligence Company, 3rd Intelligence Security Unit, led by MAJ SAGERSANTI C ESTRADA (INF) PA, Ex-O 91IB, 7ID, PA, under the supervision of LTC REANDREW P RUBIO INF (GSC) PA, Acting Commanding officer 91IB, 7ID, PA successfully facilitated the withdrawal of support and membership to CPP/NPA/NDF of fifteen (15) NPA Exploited Local Populace (supporters/contacts/couriers) under KLG Sierra Madre at Barangay Diaat, Maria Aurora, Aurora on Wednesday 22 April 2020.
The activity was part of the continued efforts of the Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) executive order (EO) 70 of the government through RCSP.
The local officials headed by Hon. Mayor Amado M. Geneta, PNP, and Barangay officials in the area headed by Barangay Captain, Hon. Alberto M. Larioza personally witnessed the said activity.
LTC RUBIO led the Pledge of Support to the government of fifteen (15) personalities who expressed their noble intention to desert the underground movement.
He said that the surrenders who submitted themselves to the authorities were a big help in the peace and development being offered by the government to end local communist armed conflict.
Despite of the current encounter which resulted to the death of two (2) soldiers and severe bruises of other members of the scout platoon, surrenderees realized that being in the communist terrorist group (CTG) can never help them but purely telling lies, deception and sowing fear to the community.
“I wanted to thanks our local officials for their willingness, continuous support and showing care to the government’s RCSP operation that provided information to neutralize the situation,” he added.
Likewise, COL ANDREW D COSTELO INF (GSC) PA, Commander, 703rd Infantry (AGILA) Brigade, of Philippine Army, commended and appreciated the effort of Sinagtala troopers, PNP, and local officials for being supportive to secure and to clear the affected barangays in this province especially Barangay Diaat where the treacherous attack happens resulted to the death of two brave soldiers.
“I encourage the members of KLG Siera Madre to lay down their arms and help the government to end the war for peace and security of every Filipino citizen and also avail the benefits offered by the government,” COSTELO said.
